This wine has a scent of green tea which carries through in the flavors. The mouth has a wonderful bright acidity that punctuates its youthfulness. The 1999 Rancho is really a Blackjack in a Rancho bottle. This was an extremely low yield year due to an unusual summer frost so we used all the Blackjack grapes to produce this wine. Due to this, the flavors are dominated by chocolate and coffee nuances.
