The initial nose upon opening the bottle was quite light. This opened up progressively revealing hints of blackberry preserves. The flavors were incredibly surprising with a dusty character and ample but soft, chewy tannins completely filling the mouth and finishing with a reminder of black licorice. This wine will easily age for another 5 years.
