Galante Family Winery sources grapes from some of the finest vineyards throughout California, from Paso Robles to Napa. The Galante team oversees all agricultural practices from these vineyards to insure maximum quality is achieved.
The majority of their wine come from vineyards in the Carmel Valley Appellation, located in the coastal mountains of Carmel Valley, California. These vineyards range from 700 feet to 1,800 feet above sea level, with grapes grown and various elevations to accentuate their individual characters and properties. Grapes grown on these slopes produce wines of exceptional body and character. Due to the extreme daily temperature variations in the Carmel Valley Appellation that can vary 50 to 60 degrees daily, the growing season is very long with harvest normally occurring in late September though October. This long "hang time" causes the grapes to ripen slowly, intensifying their rich berry flavors.
We thin our crop to an average of three tons per acre, providing a low yield of very high quality grapes. We do not use pesticides or herbicides in any of our vineyards, and only irrigate when needed. These methods, and others, combine to produce the highest quality grapes.
